i've done a little bit of research on retroarch and it's compatibility with xbox360 games, which lead me down a bit of a rabbit hole. my findings, is microsft has been trying to allow their backlog to be playable "everywhere" however right now it doesn't matter if you have the disc you still have to go through the windows store to do this which, kind of encourages piracy still cuz "why buy the game again when i can just download an emulator and download the game from the internet to run on the emulator it's free after all and while i'm there whats stopping me from downloading games i don't own?" so direct from disc xbox(360)(one) play should be added to windows but just direct from disc isn't enough we also need a few other things. 1. the option to play in windowed mode and 2. the ability to replace the kinict with a webcam. the first is for convenience the second is to broaden what is playable on windows. kinict doesn't have the largest library of games sure but some of them are well worth playing. also if your microsoft account is connected to the account you have on your xbox system trophy and save data should be sharable between the 2 if possible. all of this would actually deter piracy due to convenience factor. not only does playing the games on windows need to be able to be done with no effort (i.e. if i have a disc i can play from the disc if not i can buy it from the windows store [the later of which is the only option right now] if the game requires kinict there is a proper solution) but it also has to be a more enjoyable experience than an emulator (i.e. the games run like on original hardware if not better options for optimization broadest option of games that run control customizability ect ect ect). anyways just an idea i think microsoft should consider.
an idea for microsoft to consider adding to windows 11 and possibly 10 as well

They have a monopoly over desktop users, users who are so used to having no freedoms that a community-maintained OS such as Arch or Debian scares them. It's unfortunate, but Microsoft has had the industry held by the balls for 30 years. They didn't even deserve it. The sad side of capitalism.

so don't buy microsoft no one said you had to linux and mac have grown a ton in recent microsoft is the go to because users trust them in this case though i'm not even talking about OS i'm talking about their gaming subsection xbox itself which has competitors with nintendo sony and thats just the name brands thats not even accounting for piracy (please refer to my piracy is part of the free market blog) and other pc gaming manufacturers a company only has power over you when you support them in this case though it's not even that i don't support the company i'm literally spit balling an idea they could take to compete better with piracy it's almost like you didn't even read my blog to begin with

not sure where you are getting this supposed idea that i view your comment as a personal attack especially considering you're the one who said Microsoft is a monopoly which is something the majority of the comment you're saying i over reacted to your comment was spent disproving the notion i didn't even disagree with you that microsoft may not listen to me the fact is i kinda don't expect them to if you had read the original post correctly you'd of noticed i already addressed the fact that i'm just spitballing ideas which should be shared not just to add to the marketplace of ideas but also allows for the off chance to be heard by microsoft (weather of not they take the idea after hearing it is still something they may decide against) your supposed "attack" is something i myself agree with so it's not an attack but whatever it's clear you either suck at reading or you argue in bad faith so there really is no point in arguing with you
