For my biology class, since we are approaching the topic of plant biology, i have been assigned homework to take a picture of a tree every three days to see the development from winter to spring, and hopefully also catch the first buds blooming.
The tree i have chosen is Tilia cordata, also known as the small-leaved lime or small-leaved linden. It is a species that is native to majority of Europe, the Caucasus and western Asia. Under the International Union for Conservation of Nature Red List it is categorized as ‘Least Concern’.
The tree can thrive in wide range of conditions, being able to resist temperatures as cold as -34 °C, and even surviving on sandy, infertile soils.
It can be easily found in cities and parks, through its easily noticeable heart shaped leaves. Due to the wood being soft and light, it is often used in turnery, carving and furniture-making.
The specific tree i have chosen is a smaller individual of the species.

i dare say that deciduous trees indeed do have the most foxy vibe of all. has something to do with the distribution of species and populations
