Hello and thank you for checking out my blog!
This blog is about Kamen rider and I will be trying to cover every single Kamen rider show I watch. I made this blog as a little something I wanted to do when I'm bored and to get better at writing! So our show topic today will be Kamen rider W! (Or double depending on you). I will try to keep it as spoiler free as I can! Though I will warn just in case
Production
Kamen Rider W was created by Shotaro Ishinomori and was directed by Ryuta Tasaki. Kamen Rider W went from September 6th, 2009 to August 29th, 2010 with a total of 49 episodes. It follows 4 Main Protagonists. Renn Kiriyama as Shotaro Hidari, aka Kamen Rider W, Masaki Suda as Phillip, Hikaru Yamamoto as Akiko Narumi, and Minehiro Kinomoto as Ryu Terui, aka Kamen Rider Accel.
Story
Kamen Rider W takes place in Fuuto city. A half boiled detective named Shotaro Hidari promises to protect the city from trouble with his partner Phillip. They chase these weapons called Gala-Memories that are used to turn people into monsters by fighting back with their own Gala-Memories that turn them into Kamen Rider W. Phillip has the ability to find any book in existence with just a couple of keywords but needs to be specific in order to find the right book they need.
Review
The story is honestly really good! I love the idea that Kamen Rider W is operated by 2 people and not one. It gives the idea that in order to fight they need to work together and trust each other. Yes, Den-o has had something similar to that but with 5 people controlling a Kamen Rider but they would switch out time to time. The whole detective theme of the story is pretty cute and the second episode of a conflict going on, will use a detective like board and use pins to explain what has happened so far. The detective part plays a somewhat big part of the show in which Shotaro tries his best to prove he is a serious detective who promises to save the city from any harm. The characters are so fun and memorable that they became one of my favorite casts for Kamen Rider because of how silly and fun they are without being annoying or unfunny. The monster designs are really cool and has one of my favorite monster designs ever in one episode. The main villains monster designs are also very good and really well made.

(here below are some designs of the monsters!)

The music is excellent and the opening theme is so catchy I would never skip it! I'll have the opening linked below for anyone who wants to listen!

Summary
Kamen Rider W is one of my favorites to rematch. Its very memorable in its story, characters, designs, and villains while being a very serious show like every Kamen Rider is, it still has goofy and silly moments that make you laugh. But there is also many sad scenes that have you wish some characters lives could've been better.
Overall, my score is 9/10 and though I loved this show, I'm not sure if it would be the best Kamen Rider show to start with but even if you do start Kamen Rider with this show it'd still very fun and I promise you don't need that much knowledge of Kamen Rider to watch it.
I hope you enjoyed my review and I hope this blog encourages you to try Kamen Rider out even if you don't like action shows!
Here is my IMDB page of my rewatch or first time watching Kamen Rider shows! https://www.imdb.com/list/ls501230871/
And if live action shows aren't your thing, they are making a anime based of the manga of this show which will come out somewhere in 2022! So look forward to that cause i might review that as well!
Anyways, stay safe and thank you for reading!
