first of all big spoilers for The Batman so be wary

OKAY SO it's been in my head for days but like. every single time I hear drifter by mook my brain goes crazy cause it is LITERALLY THE RIDDLER. like the line uhm. i'll copy and paste cause it's easier but like. it's more than one line. but still like LOOK.

so like the whole like in similar clothes and like !!! its the orphanage!! and like i know its a stretch but the mark on the door is his own writing on the walls and the rat and the bats part like! i might be reading too deep into a song that was made years and years before the movie was even conceptual but STILL like. the whole thing about how his whole thing with bruce is like they were both kids in a similar situation but he was the one cursed by life to deal with the rats biting his fingers and like. UGH!!!!! okay next part.

so like. come on. MARKED BY A PAST REMINISCION. LITERALLY. and like the floodboards is where bruce is painting on the floor his whole connection thing and the cure to his condition is the condition of his life and his life as a child where he had nothing the cure was to take down the people who lied to him and the city his whole life. the cure he's formulated which will finally bring vengeance for the wrongdoings of others like!!!! anyways final part!!!!

Had followed him
Into his memories

okay every time i listen to this song this part hits soooo hard and like. just. UGH!!! like again probably a stretch but the beast is batman who has followed into the orphanage to look back into their memories together to show the final piece like that!!!! and also like could be more metaphorical being the beast that is his need for vengeance and his like endless desperation for those who have done wrong to be punished like. UGH!

anyways that's all i just can't stop thinking about it it's so much and so good and it just fits so well. darkling is another i'd like to look into for correlation but DJKHFDSJHAF anyways hope this wasn't a mess to read i just have a lot of thoughts.
