#1 - i wish i was the moon by neko casei found this song while watching true blood. i think it was the episode where sookie and eric fucked for the first time while he had amnesia. i fell in love with this song on the first listen because it just really spoke to me? i too wish i was the moon sometimes. life gets very lonely!#2 - red red red by fiona applethis is one i fell in back in love with after not listening for a while. fiona apple is such a phenomenal songwriter with her ability to make you feel things on a deeper level. she just makes good music and minds her business, love her!
#3 - georgia by phoebe bridgersanother talented songwriter! i love the way she stitched together this story about the need for validation in relationships. all the fears and nasty thoughts that come with it.#4 - a little pain from nana (english ver. bc that's what's on spotify)i watched nana for the first time a couple of months ago with my friends and felt nostalgic so i had this on repeat. it hit different this time though. it feels like i could actually feel what the song is about now.#5 - white ferrari by frank oceanfrank ocean, you will always be famous! white ferrari always makes me feel alive and reminds me that life is a lot but it's okay sometimes. it makes up for it with beautiful and cherished moments.#6 - it'll all work out (bonus track) by phoebe bridgersthis song feels like a warm blanket being draped over you by a loved one who saw that you had fallen asleep on the couch. it's very cozy and loving.#7 - cherry wine by hozierhozier has such a nice voice like i want to bottle it and wear it as perfume. it's just so...full. couple that with wonderful lyrics chock-full of vivid imagery and it's a recipe for something otherworldly! i'm still shocked by the amount of people who want this as their wedding song but i digress!#8 - easier than lying by halseyi swear no musician gets me quite like halsey does. it's actually a bit crazy to think about how much of their discography speaks to me on such a deeper level. i've been listening to her music since i was roughly 13/14 and to see their growth as an artist and public figure is inspiring and interesting. easier than lying has helped me articulate some of my feeling this past month.#9 - monster by meg myersanother song from my favorites vault. i started listening to meg myers when i was about 13 and fell in love with everything she had out at the time. her older work really helped me realize and accept the darkness i possess. i was able to understand myself a little more.#10 - kiss me by ed sheerani learned how to play this on the guitar (i'm a beginner) to help work on strumming and chord changes. it actually helped me understand the structure of songs based on guitar. overall, it's a lovely song.
