I went for a little hike again :)
Since it got cold again yesterday it snowed a bit. Not at my house, but a few meters above.
Anyways, it was weekend, so I drove into the forest. My first goal was the hill Raucheck (804m) where I didn't really knew the way up, so I just went straight onwards. The summit must be somwhere on this picture.
Going down the other side was not that steep and I got a beautiful view over the meadows. Usually, everything's green, but the fog and the snow make it look a bit sad.
After passing the farms, I went onwards to the next hill Schatteck (922m) where I just had to follow the road. I got a beautiful view of the valley with the Egelsee, a lake that silted up long time ago. The house you see in the far, I will get to it later.
I couldn't really figure out what was standing on the wayside cross, maybe 18 PP 47 marking the year and some initials? In a hiking report I just read, it is described as an "interesting old cross". I know that a plane crashed on this mountain in the sixties, but not here and the cross looks too old.
anyways, I made it to the top and got a beautiful view, but sadly the fog was too dense to see the lake.
I didn't really had to walk down far as it was just a foothill of the next mountain Schwarzerberg (1334m). I followed the road again, but sadly they don't really lead to the mountain top but rather stay at the same level. After reading, I also found out that I could have used an old trail to
skip quite a bit of the road and meet another cross from 1686. But I didn't know it existed before. So I followed the road, a logging trail and then the arete. There wasn't really a path up, but I think in summer some people go up there.
After this cutline there were fresh footprints of somebody walking up and down again, which I followed a half an hour, but I never saw him... it began to snow again. Hiking down was the same situation as before, the roads just don't lead down and you would walk useless detours following them. Luckily I know how to read maps and found an old abandoned logging trail leading steeply down to exactly where I wanted to. But I wouldn't recommend using its bridges...
This is the Egelsee swamp again, from the other side . The white spot in the forest was the place where I took the other photo.
Then I went back along the valley to the first houses, passed this big dilapitaded farm (there were some machines running inside, but I didn't see animals through the open stable door...
I went on for 15 minutes and found my motorbike covered in snow. It must have gotten colder :D
