8/28/20 - A poem by me. - The Sky was on fire, In colors of Vermilion, Shades of Orange, And soft hues of Blue. The Sky was on fire, The couples danced, The doe pranced, A fire-spitting trace. The Sky was on fire, The widowed cried, A sad and awful sigh, While the stars are up so high. The Sky was on fire, A girl stood at the edge of the lake, Nothing in her wake, All she wanted was a break. The Sky was on fire, And she didn’t know what to say, Her breath was taken away, A soft whisper in the night did sway, Her heart, and lead it astray. The Sky was on fire, And she had nothing left to say, Staying with the sunset till day, Did the little girl stay? Nay, she left at dawn, Amidst the frogs and fawn, Till day turned to eve, And the Sky was on fire once more. "The Sky was on Fire."
"The Sky was on Fire."
