Turning Red canon??

So... I was thinking recently, and after just getting a Tamagotchi I was wondering. Meilin's Tamagotchi (named Robaire Jr.) was only toddler stage in the film. That means that she had only had it for a few days, and I was thinking, perhaps it was a birthday gift? Perhaps, since she had just turned 13, Meilin had become hyperfixated on 4*Town and also grown more confident in expressing herself since being 13 means she's officially a grown up! (at least, according to the Toronto Transit Commission.)
