the title of this poem is "what if" and its about Greek mythology because i'm a slight nerd...
If Pandora never opened the box
What would the world have become
And as the wind blew the plagues across the seas what did it think
The wind is like a kiss of death cold yet sweet
You never want it to come but when it does your ready
Pandora should have known
Known more of horrors in the box the gods so graciously gave her
She should have been warned and same with her companions
Maybe it wouldn't of happened if they were
Even so she might've been just like poor Icarus
The boy who flew too close to the sun
After all he was warned
He was told the wax would melt
But the boy who was locked in the tower was in love
He loved the sun it brought him warmth and happiness, comfort and reason
Reason to keep going
When he finally escaped with his father he flew
Flew right up to the sun and when he fell from the sky
He peacefully landed in the ocean
People pitied him but he was not sad when he died
In his last moments he flew and met his only true love the sun
Maybe a warning isn't what we really need thought
Maybe we need to feel the consequences of our actions
Maybe we need to feel the gravity of our decisions
But truthfully I will never know the true answer
Because all I know is the maybe’s and the what if”s
