Hihi!!
I've been playing Mirror's Edge: Catalyst a lot during the last two days since it's been on a major discount on Steam! I wanted to share my experience!!
I rate it a 9/10. This game is so fun and gives a wide range of opportunities depending on what kinds of games you like. If you're more into combat, or side missions or if you like the main story aspect of games and like the terrain and puzzle aspect of the running, it's got what you need! The visuals are gorgeous too! I really love how they stuck to a simple color pallet that focuses on the primary colors to really set the mood of different areas. The lighting is good too, though I'm particularly a sucker for glowing sunsets >,>
Sometimes the movement can feel a little janky and I find that enemies can particularly be a pain sometimes. If I didn't level up my stats in time for a battle or build up the right ones, sometimes I think that it would be impossible to pass it. But that's why they give you points!
Another con is that I feel like the cutscenes can be irritating. Every time you die in a battle and have to come back the cutscene you just saw plays again. If I didn't figure out by myself that holding ESC would cut it then I would seriously get frustrated...
Loving the game so far though!! If anyone else has played it, tell me, what do you think?? For those who haven't played it, would you consider it??

I beat the game and enjoyed it! The reason it never took off is because fans of the first game didnt like the open world, and at times it could be exhausting, but honestly not that bad. I'm surprized they took out the gunplay that was in the original, but that was the hardest part for me which allowed me to enjoy Catalyst even more. I can't remember too much, but I think I felt like there needed to be more when it was over. Like they didn't give me enough story to be satisfied, but I cant remember, it's been years now... I'm glad you're enjoying it!
My friend told me I'm about at the end now and honestly, I agree! I'm left wishing there was more. I'm holding out my hands but it feels pretty empty, yknow?
Yeah, the gunplay being removed is very puzzling. I can't imagine why really.. maybe some kind of censorship law? I'm unsure.
I've enjoyed it though, and I'm glad you did too! The open-world is doing me lots of favors in my opinion!
