the issue with Quileute wolves

i really, really enjoy twilight (duhh) but there are some aspects of the series i do not respect stephanie for putting in or making happen, especially the whole "Quileute tribe turn into werewolves" thing. the Quileute tribe is a real thing with real people, and i can only imagine how many people had problems because of how the twilight saga made them seem so supernatural and perpetuated so many false ideas. in fact, the burke museum has a super informative article (idk what to call it) and i'll link it at the bottom. not to mention how over-sexualized and made to seem violent or dumb the Quileute tribe are in the saga... i get that taylor lautner is an attractive guy, but even in the books jacob is described super sexually, talking about how he wasn't wearing shirts all the time, and saying stuff like he was wearing only a pair of cut off jeans??? and in new moon (movie) when bella confronts jacob about the tattoo hes literally standing shirtless in the steamy rain.  and the wolf pack's actions are continually things characterized as being impolite or improper, and theres definitely a reason for that. the cullens are meant to be rich and esteemed and fancy, so stephanie made the Quileute tribe the opposite of that. but jasper is canonically a confederate soldier (like a hundred years before it takes place), and they still took him in. i understand that it was over a hundred years prior and he most likely had changed his ideals since living in the 21st century, but as the cullens are seen as like, better than the Quileute, it makes it even weirder when one of them is canonically a racist. plus, even though the Quileute is integral to the story, they didn't get any money from it despite how popular it was and how much money it made. the origin story of the Quileute in twilight isn't even remotely accurate, and stephanie decided to just... shape Quileute culture with her own non-Native hands. and the tattoo! it just misappropriated native art. the artist of the tattoo, lesza snowdon, incorporated random bits of Quileute stories into the tattoo, and uses a style of tattoo with it that appropriates the historical, cultural tattoo styles for all Northwest Coast tribes and like, tries to merge their extremely varying culture together. and despite all this, the Quileute still don't get a single cent. (Note: a lot of the actors who played Native characters in the movie aren't even Native, which is a problem on its own!) anyway, if you've gotten this far thanks for giving me ur time, and i hope what i said kind of made sense :)

(p.s. leave me a comment if i got smth wrong or if u have something to add or say!! i wanna hear ur thoughts :) )
