Sea of Love by Phil Phillips, Cat Power's cover, hits me in the feels

This song has always scratched my brain so good since the second I heard it back in  2020. I just hadn't actually listened to its entirety until yesterday. The best way I can describe how this song makes me feel is an angelic life form caressing my heart so gently, its touch as light as a feather. I genuinely think I could listen to this song over and over again and never get tired of it, and some part of me is sad that it's only 2 minutes & 19 seconds. This song is so gentle feeling but it has some sort of bitter sweet aftertaste. Like you're loosing the love of your life but your okay with knowing that this is the end, because you're just so delighted that you even knew that person, even if your time together was so brief. Or like...a french vanilla cappuccino. I know that's such a strange comparison but its just honestly how I feel. Like a book where both main characters die at the end. The end of the song leaves you with a fulfilled but almost empty feeling in your heart, like you're falling into the most peaceful forever slumber. The gist of this blog was that I just really enjoy this song, maybe a little too much. I am unironically considering this song to play at my wedding. If you enjoy this song another one that I would really recommend is A Quick One Before The Eternal Worm Devours Connecticut by Have A Nice Life. Both of the songs I'm talking about are on Spotify, and if you'd like my Spotify account and other songs I recommend are on my profile page. Stay safe and have a good day. :-)

"Sea Of Love"
(originally by Phil Phillips)

Come with me my love
To the sea
The sea of love
I want to tell you
How much I love you

Do you remember
When we met?
That's the day I knew you were my pet
I want to tell you
How much I love you

Come with me my love
To the sea
The sea of love
I want to tell you
How much I love you
