week long fast

I’ve made it to day 3 of my week long fast,

Yesterday I had a few challenging moments and was ready to find the nearest fast food restaurant to gorge myself,

Today has been much easier so far though as this is when your body starts to shift and create extra hormones like HGH,

My mind feels calm and any negative thoughts are much easier to acknowledge, understand their root causes and then let them go,

I’ve only been drinking water and every time I lift my bottle to my lips it feels like I’m cleansing my entire system,

Only downside is the amount of times I’ve had to use the toilet but my pee is now consistently clear,

During my times of craving for food it’s interesting to notice it’s always for junk food!

But when I shift my thoughts to healthy food the craving go away,

I’ve always understood that company’s value money more than a persons physical and mental health and have invested lots of money to manipulate our unconscious mechanisms,

Fasting is showing me how hard it is to overcome those things without setting clear intentions and being willing to push through the uncomfortable moments and giving into the cravings,

I believe this is reviling to me the reason so many people in today’s world spend so much time struggling to understand the complex simplicity of life,

Because we have been so far removed from understanding our own inner desires and guided down a path that leads us to our own destruction,

This process is then magnified by unresolved traumatic events creating a cycle that becomes harder and harder to overcome without making the decision to break this cycle,

In the beginning breaking the cycle appears harder than remaining in the cycle but once clarity begins to return it becomes clear that remaining in that cycle was causing many of our negative emotions and struggles,

Although this has taken me years and many sacrifices to understand many of the lessons learned have come through simple practices,

Such as,

Having a foundation is some form of a higher power,

I believe this is important because it provides strength when you face challenges but also keeps one’s ego in check,

I personally like Shinto, Taoism and Buddhism

But this can also be achieved by believing in the stars or any other concept that resonates as long as it’s message is love and unity,

Meditation of some form is also important,

This again can be different from person to person,

I personally aim to achieve a state of active meditation but I’ve learned to find peace of mind through many different activities like riding a motorcycle, getting tattooed, breathing through my nose, listening to music and so on,

Point is,

Meditation doesn’t have to be yoga or some other form of meditation that has been sold to us,

Lastly,

Learning to understand my thoughts and being aware of my actions,

Then implementing ways to improve those things that I believe need improvement and being aware that change doesn’t happen overnight and comes after many failures,

I also view "failure" as being an opportunity to to learn and improve,

Not as the end of the world or a waste my other positive efforts and is simply part of the process,

The only failure I look to avoid is giving up because that’s the only thing that results in positive changes not one day being achieved.
