I think it's been like, less than 24 hours since I signed up for Spacehey, and already, there's a special wonder that's just kinda permeated my entire day. The internet I fell in love with still exists, and she's just as beautiful as I left her.
I think the weirdest part is that like, I didn't really realize exactly how much social media sucks. I wasn't an early adopter of any of the main offenders, save for maybe Tumblr, and that one happens to be the only one I still really enjoy using.
So why, then, does Spacehey hit so hard for me? Why is this fun to explore, while twitter feels like a chore? As we speak, I am making horrible ramen on the stove with this page open, so I can go back and forth and add thoughts as I have them. I haven't done that in... ever. I have never done that before. I spent my whole day in my room, on the computer, and at no point did it feel like I had exhausted my list of things to do.
I legitimately just thought I had like, grown up and lost the plot. NO!! NO!! 14-YEAR OLD ME IS SO VINDICATED, there's so MUCH to discover and experience!! Brands may have taken my internet, but I'm taking the mf back!!! YA HOOOO [cartoon sound effects]
