this is old and i kind of changed one of the character relationships later on but i just wanna rewrite a one shot for my oc Arthur !!! the world these characters are in are 100 yrs in the future and basically there are two species, the NS (short for New Species since i don't have a proper name yet) and humans !! the NS are just humans but better pretty much, later i might make another blog elaborating on these bad boys but yeah !! i just want to see what people think so far of the one shot !! Sunny Day Cafe. Arthur stared at the cafe for a while as he sat in his car. Arthur had spent the day looking for a place to meet at for his group. His group was a defiance group against his kind who was trying to stop human life and take over the Earth they live on. Arthur’d been disgusted with the plan and he’d found a few other people who felt the same way, thus the creation of their group. As the reason why the group came together would be considered treason to others, the group leaders would search for new places to converse and discuss plans. Now, it was Arthur’s turn. Every place they’d been to had been fairly hidden off and unpopulated and they’d made sense with their purpose. This cafe doesn’t seem as smart as an idea but after a long day of searching, Arthur was ready to settle. Imagining what the others would say to him, asking why he’d chosen a spot filled with humans, Arthur turned the music down from his radio and removed the keys from the ignition and stepped out of the car. There was a jingle of a bell as Arthur gingerly opened the cafe door and looked around. The cafe was medium-sized and it had large windows along the walls where the sunlight was allowed to pool along the white tables and floor giving an open and friendly atmosphere. It was quiet and there wasn’t as many people as Arthur thought there’d be. A waiter noticed Arthur standing by the door and walked over, smiling. Arthur gave a nod and a half smile back as he led him to a bright table by another window. “Your waiter will be coming by in a bit.” the waiter says, passing Arthur a small menu. Arthur nods. As he sat there, the sun beaming down on him, Arthur realized that the jacket he was wearing wasn’t really suited for his environment, feeling a little stuffy, he removed his overcoat and placed it on the back of his chair. Then, running a hand through his curly blonde hair, began to read the menu. Settling on a grilled-cheese sandwich, Arthur stares out the window. This place isn’t so bad actually, Arthur thinks. Enjoying the view of a garden through the window, Arthur allows himself to relax a bit in his seat. “Hello!” Startled, Arthur looks up at a waitress. The waitress looks young, seemed to be around 18 or 19 and she has medium length black hair which is tied up in a ponytail and blue eyes. She’s wearing a white shirt with the name of the cafe written in cursive print and a logo of a smiling sun. Like the sun, the young waitress wears a friendly smile. “I’m Serenity and I’ll be your waitress today. Would you like anything to drink to start you off?” “Um, just a glass of water, no ice.” Arthur mumbles. “Alright,” Serenity jots it down in a small note pad, “anything else for now?” she asks, giving another one of her smiles. “That’s all.” Arthur replies, half-heartedly smiling back. “Okay then, I’ll be coming back to get your order, unless if you already have it then I can go ahead and take it…” Serenity pauses, looking at him. “Um, yes actually, I do have something.” Arthur says, reaching for the menu. “I would like to order the grilled-cheese sandwich.” “Nice! Those are my favorite.” Serenity comments, writing down the order. “So, those come with a side, either a salad or fries, which would you prefer?” “I’ll… go with a salad.” Arthur decided. “Alright… so, I’ll be back with your order in a bit, okay?” Serenity smiles. Again with the smiles, Arthur thinks, as he nods and she walks away. Arthur watches the bouncing ponytail, trailing behind Serenity as she disappears, perhaps to serve another customer or into the kitchen. Staring at the space she’d once been at his table, he turned away and looked out the window, once again, thinking. Her friendly disposition felt left over and began to seep into Arthur. His back straightened and there felt a need to stand or walk around. Leaning back into his seat, he stared out the window, pondering his emotions and the waitress who stirred them. Why? Looking back, Arthur never was quite sure what he felt; how or why was a mystery. Growing up, Arthur would always try to be the shining example. There wasn’t much room for mistakes or individualism, many important adults had just expected him to be compliant. He was the one that they could depend on to do things for them. As for the kids his age back then, he was the one who the younger would look up to and grow up to be; the pretty boy who lived almost lavishly with the favor of those above him. Long before then, he’d been aware of how he looked, especially with how people looked and treated him. He remembered the people who’d tried to be with him, writing letters or asking him out. He’d always turned them down, no one really stood out to him as worth it back then. Then he’d met his current girlfriend and he’d been happy, or at least he thought he was. Did he ever feel like the sun broke through the clouds and shone directly on him before? Like he could dance and smile as himself? Did his girlfriend ever make him feel that way? Was it Serenity? Couldn’t be. He was taken anyway, he shouldn’t be thinking like that. Arthur continued to gaze out the window, pushing his thoughts away.
