why r so many ppl from socal so rude?

My Irl friends have told me their dating experiences with ppl that live in so-cal and they've always cheated or were abusive, I started talking to this guy that lives in so-cal (we dont talk anymore) and he was such a douchebag unless we were being flirtatious, and towards the end of whatever our relationship was he told me I wasn't real real because we hadnt met in person yet and he could basically talk to me however he wanted... BITCH EXUSE ME???!! ooohh AND GET THIS. later he tells me he cares abt me because I put so much effort in being his friend. anyways we stopped talking to each other in December and I tried to reah out awhile ago but he left me on seen.. ouch
