you're told from a very young age that your mother is your support system. someone you can trust. someone who will love you no matter the circumstance.
growing up with an insecure mother is a difficult thing. "im not beautiful" she'll say, right after she'll tell you that you look like her. "dont worry my love, you're gorgeous". she'll wrap those arms around you and for three seconds you'll feel safe.
change. we see it everywhere. becoming yourself is hard. "don't wear that!" she'll exclaim, "it makes me look like a bad mother". you''ll oblige to her because she's your support system. mothers are always correct.
one day you'll eventually wake up and realize, this isn't fair. it never has been. since birth you've been a barbie for your mother to make beautiful. the only time she cares is when you present yourself like a harlequin girl. someone who makes themself look stupid for others.
i hope she's proud of what she raised. someone who hates themself because of their mother.
