Help with hair

So, currently I have a sidepart and a very long fringe bit at the front. I rlly want to get emo hair but idk if I can since a few weeks ago I shaved the sides of my head (since I have a sidepart it covers a lot of it) so idk if I can still acheive an emo fringe.
