Chiaki's Game Reviews #1: Tetris 99

Hello and welcome to Chiaki's game reviews. Today we will be review the Nintendo Switch exclusive Tetris 99. You are able to get access to this game by having an online subscription to Nintendo Switch Online. This game is a pretty cool free download and incentive to try out the service in my opinion.

The game itself follows a pretty simple concept. It takes the popular battle royale genre of games and infuses into the puzzle game Tetris. You play a simple game of Tetris against 98 other players and they can drop junk blocks onto your board, making things more difficult. The game continues until one player is left. There are also multiplayer modes for you to play with your friends or a basic high score mode of the chaos of the battle royale mode is a bit much for you. The game also has collectibles such as badges and custom background themes which I think are pretty cool, if not a bit annoying to collect, especially since the only way to get them without spending tickets (which are very hard to get), is to win a game during the limited time of the theme's release. However the gameplay is still fun and very addictive, I really like the simple gameplay of tetris with the chaos on 98 other players.

Overall this game is an easy recommendation to anyone who has Nintendo Switch Online. It may get a bit boring over time since the gameplay of Tetris get repetitive, but when you find the game fun, you'll be sucked into a world of hours of fun. I give this game 7 out of 10.
