graffiti
growing up in chicago i would always see graffiti. even in the craziest places that i never thought a person could get on. i never really minded the art but seeing adults always talking about how it makes the city look disgusting i soon saw it in a negative way. Soon i ended moving to a south suburb and didnt really get to see much graffiti. But the art slowly fascinated me. I was always in awe of how fast a human can change a simple wall to art in less than a couple minutes. I was always involved in art from a young age but i never really stepped into graffiti until a couple years ago. learning it became fairly easy. I was interested in art but i usually did a lot of realism and abstract. So incorporating my skills that i already had really helped me enjoy graffiti. Later i ended up meeting and eventually dating someone who does graffiti on the regular basis, me already doing it found ourselves getting along and talking about it. After learning and meeting more people who do graffiti it helped me see it in a different light. it wasnt just something people did to make chicago look "trashy". It was a form of art and it takes time and dedication of be able to be like the OGs. Once you look at it in the perspective of an artist it changes the way to look at art no matter what kind of style and demographic it applies to. And as of today it become one of my favorite forms of art and i find myself doing it on almost the daily basis.
