Boy Meets Maria - Short Review!

My Thoughts: This manga was recommended to me by a friend!! It's the same friend who told me about a Lollipop or a Bullet, so I immediately wanted to read it. I immediately clicked with Taiga as a person who acts "childish" and has parents that .. don't get along too well. Characters like Taiga always gave a soft spot in my heart (and a special spot in my kinlist). The story did move a little too fast for me and I got lost a lot, but eventually I understood !!
I started crying when I learned about what happened with Arima. I cried harder when he semi-threatened Taiga with the same thing. I feel so terribly for Arima. I'm glad that he eventually could open up to Taiga some more and they eventually became friends!! or,, more than that? 0-0
This manga was certainly within my taste. It has similar themes to Oyasumi Punpun and A Lollipop or a Bullet, which is exactly the kind of manga that catches my attention. I love being able to relate to characters a lot in the things I like, which is hard in other genres like Shonen or action. I'm not really a "Shounen AI" fan, but this manga got a pass because my friend recommended it :3
Overall, I give this manga a 7/10 !! I definitely recommend reading it if you're into BL genres with a mix of sadness. The ending was wholesome and even added a sweet little kiss. Sadly, the author passed away at the young age of 23. Hearing that breaks my heart, and I hope they're doing well in the afterlife.
