I've been searching far and wide for the proper sword to base The Phoenix's elite weapon on. Part of the trouble is, it needed to serve many functions. Be both a sword, and well also a lance. It also had to work both as a thrusting and slashing blade. 

United Cutlery, turns out some fantastic practical tactical bladed weapons. Oh that's another thing, even though The Phoenix's Thunderlance Gunlaar, is imbued with many fantastic powers. I wanted it to be a very practical thing. 

I think I finally found that weapon. United Cutlery's Combat Commander Thai Gladius.
