I don't know how many of you would have liked the high school version of me. Well, here is one piece of photographic evidence, back when I thought I was the height of cool:
This is my much(?) referenced "Xanga Monk" picture. It's probably one of the last ones that remains from that era of my life. And you know what's kinda stupid? That I sort of want to reactivate my Facebook. Just so I can go back in time and unearth pictures of me from an eternity ago. I wasn't full on scene or emo or goth like some of y'all were back in the day. Either way, I keenly felt that sentiment in the core of my being. So yeah, I gew up in a nice and quiet neighborhood, enveloped by a rather affluent family, and for the most part, typically suburban neighbors. What could possibly give me any sort of angst?
I've always been able to make friends super easily, and yet, I've battled with demons plaguing my skewed sense of self-worth, self-confidence, and self-esteem. I know all three of those things are intangible and pretty much the same concept. Work with me here, okay? I've been in a creative rut lately, for one reason or another. But something Jack Raven said really got me to thinking: "we've all come a long way since back then" and likewise, Eliott told me this earlier:
"No I think everyone hates their own art. I think when you spend so long on something you grow to resent it and the longer it takes the greater the pressure you put yourself under; in the end you can never meet your own standards." That really hit home for me.
Anyway, I wanna keep this entry short. I still plan to do my video for tonight. Furthering my trip down memory lane, here.

Nice thoughts. We are our own worst critics. Throughout the years I've learned to let go of some of those stumbling blocks from the past.
