my diy band jacket!

about a month ago i bought an old 90s black denim jacket secondhand for like 13 bucks. the plan was to make patches for it and cover it and make it coooool. it's about halfway covered so i wanted to show the progress! all patches are hand stitched (could have painted some but this is more fun!) and hand sewn to the jacket

first up is TDAGARIM which stands for the devil and god are raging inside me. one of the best albums on earth! ofc separate the art from the artist and nvm jesse lacey but the *album* slams

next came fall out boy stitched onto the pocket! it's all completely filled in now but for some reason i don't have a close up of it all done lol

next is cobra starship! full color and stitched onto a patch of denim~

i wanted to put a leather patch on the back of the jacket kinda like how denim jeans have a tag on the back. so i made one for nothing rhymes with circus! aka panic! at the disco's amazing headliner from '06. stitched onto a piece of an old target wallet lol.

cab calloway sang saint james infirmary in this bettie boop short and the clown and ghost are literally my faves so i made patches for them! sitting pretty on the back shoulders~ and a better look at the placement of the nothing rhymes with circus patch too~

fave piece! ordered a fall out boy tee secondhand and cut up the design to stitch onto the back panel~ i'm obsessed with it. i had to cut it up and frankenstein it into place bc it was a bit too big so it's a lil wonky but i loveee it.

little toothie baby! stitched onto more of that leather from the back tag. teeth are good luck symbols but i have bad teeth lol so it's "bad luck" right on my sleeve~

these are tom waits lyrics but more importantly ryan ross' tattoos from his wrists! his first tats. i was gonna recreate the same font that he has for his tattoos but i thought it would look too messy embroidered, so i did them in a classic tattoo font to get the point across lol.

asking alexandria: located on the left breast pocket (mirroring the fall out boy pocket)

my chemical romance: located on the right arm (mirroring the cobra starship patch)

fun fact! the black fabric is reused from the cut up fall out boy tee!!

the strokes!! with some ~very~ good blanket stitching around the border if i do say so myself. and catfish and the bottlemen's album art from the balcony on the other side right underneath my chem! also notice i put little spikes on both shoulders~

that's all for now!! i'm currently working on a lil piece to go on the back top panel above the fob shirt design. it's another panic! at the disco piece lol i'm so excited for it! i'll be sure to update soon when i have a few more patches done~ i've been working pretty much nonstop on this since i got it~
