This is an extended haiku that was originally meant for a poem test based on a season.
Summer's Lesson
The days grow longer
As we let them pass us by
All ACs on high
Summer EveningsĀ
Spent on long walks and deep talks
Ruby wine glasses
Short nights spent under
Winking stars and navy blue
Buzzing keeps us up
The sun begins to
Tease us from behind gray clouds
As wind bites us
Autumn has arrived
Forcing us to realize
All the warmth wasted
But even in cold
There will be warmth to be found
Under rainbow leaves
