With 2020 coming to an end (good riddance, am I right?), it only makes sense to start planning out goals for the upcoming year. I have a few things in mind that I've been wanting to do, and I figure if I share them here, that little boost of accountability will keep me on track.
Read 52 Books
This will be by far the hardest of my goals, I think: I want to read a book a week. I wasn't sure I wanted to commit to it at first. I very nearly picked a smaller goal of 25-30 books instead, but the more I thought about it, the more I realized it's definitely doable. I read a lot as is, this would just make reading daily more of a thing instead of reading just once or twice a week. I have an ample amount of books I've been wanting to read anyways, so this will give me the perfect excuse to do just that!
Daily Journaling
A few years back I tried to get into journaling. I loved the idea of it, and I had a nice setup going, but after a few weeks I realized I don't really do a whole lot on a day-to-day basis that would require needing to set up elaborate page spreads and schedules. I ended up stopping, but recently I realized the benefits just writing down my thoughts at the end of the day had for my mental health. So I want to do it more, and I'm really looking forward to it.
Write More
This one's a little vague, mostly because I don't want to set any type of timeline that could cause burnout. I used to write a lot, but the past few years I haven't done much of it. There isn't even a good excuse as to why. I want to get back into it though. Originally I wanted to try to write a short story a week, but I realize that wouldn't help things any. So instead I have a goal to just write more in general next year.
I have other smaller goals I want to try to work on next year (learn a new language, eat healthier, all the usual culprits), but those are the main three I want to strive toward. They seem doable, and I'm excited to get started on them in less than a week now. This year may have been a disaster, but I'm hopeful 2021 will be brighter.
