Film: Once Upon A Time In Hollywood

Year: 2019

Director: Quinton Tarantino

Quinton Tarantino's pretty cool. He's a fun director. There's a reason his work is so damn popular. So I was pretty surprised at how un-tarantino-like Once Upon A Time... In Hollywood was. The craaazy action and snappy dialogue you usually expect from him didn't really hit up until the last third, and instead it was...slow-burn and suspenseful, but in a funny way.
That said, I was pleasantly surprised by how refreshing this film was! There were a lot of characters in it, sure, but were pretty compelling enough to care about almost all of them, without going into a long diatribe about their life or on the other end of the spectrum, seeming shallow and annoying. Pretty good!
My one complaint is that it was too damn long. I feel like quite a lot of this movie could've been cut to make it at maximum 2 hours. Filmmakers learn how to condense things challenge 2021.

3/5 there's a cute dog in it also
