First Time Long Drive

So this August I have a trip planned to Pennsylvania from Upstate New York to see someone, and I've NEVER driven that far before on my own. I used to go on drives with my parents but this is the first time I'll be on my own and I'm actually a little scared? I'm just worried because it's going to be roughly an 8 hour drive, and if I wanna get there when he get's off work, I have to leave at 7pm to make it there by 3am. I'm not sure. But if anyone has any tips to help me then I'd be muuuch appreciative!
