Vent ig ?? **TW: ED**

*** TW : eating disorder (ig) ***
I guess this is a vent. I cant find balance in my eating habit. There are times when I dont eat at all during the day and jet there are days when I just binge eat the whole day. For example, today I wasnt hungry at all. I only chewed on gum during the time I was at school. When I got home I took a 4 hour nap ..... not good but I needed it, I was soooo tired, anyway when I got up I still wast that hungry but I thought that I needed to eat something, so I ate oatmeal and some popcorns (weird combination I know hahah), but now I am hungry but its not like my stomach is making noise or sth, its just that my mouth is hungry. I hope this makes sense. And what I hate the most is that my weight goes up EVEN THOUGH I dont eat that much. I am not diagnosed with eating disorder, but sometimes it just seems I might have it. Many people told me that I should eat three times a day, to eat even when Im not hungry, but I cant do that. It seems that I only eat when I dont have anything to do or when Im sad. When Im sad I eat to not feel so sad, but when I see how much I ate I get more sad ahhaha. On the other hand, during the days when I binge eat it doesnt bother me how much I eat.
This is vary confusing for me, so if someone has some sort of advice or something similar, pls let me know

my best friend also has an eating disorder and i struggle with body image. im not sure if this will help, but nothing is wrong with your body besides how you see it. for binging, try binging on things like bananas instead of unhealthy foods.

Thx for responding and I know its hard when you struggle with body image, but I think you are right when you say that nothing is wrong with your body besides how you see it. Its hard to get this mindset but we must try, also thank you for your advice :)

Iโ€™ve been in the same situation for a while, restricting then binging, itโ€™s a continuous cycle of losing weight and then gaining it all back. my advice personally is to avoid restricting your eating because it will only cause your body to want to binge more, instead just satisfy your cravings with fruits and natural foods which will make you fuller for longer, avoiding binging, but also supplying your body with nutrients because itโ€™s important you eat too.

Thank you for responding, I will try to eat more fruits and see where it takes me :) and thank you for saying that you experience the same thing, because now I know that there are other people with same problem as me and I kinda feel better?, I just hope this doesnt sound selfish or rude

Iโ€™m glad to help, and even if itโ€™s a small progress, recognising that you have bad eating habits and youโ€™d like to fix it is a start! hope it goes well :) also to mention, eating dense foods with low calories such as oatmeal is great because it fills you up longer, avoiding binging, and also is low calorie and nutritious. good luck!
