Since i cant do video diaries anymore i figured this would work just as well. gonna do it slightly differently tho bc mans failing my a levels and i cant hack it, baso just gonna b a recap/ diary of what i learnt and what happened during my day :p

k so woke up late so i got ready slow bc i knew i wasnt gonna get to school on time anyway, had ange for two hours and we did changes in inequality in class structure, theres two parts; the measuring of social class and this shift in class structure. 
theres three ways to measure social class (theres prob more but this is all i need to know ok)
Measuring:
1. Marxist approach
  • bourgeoisie and proletariat represent a manual/ none manual divide. 
2. Government classification
  • ranking social class via ocupational status
3. Hope goldthorpe
  • similar to gov clss however distinguishes three diff ocupational statuses
  1. service class
  2. intermediate class
  3. working class
shifts in social class structure:
1. embourgeoisement 
  • affluent working class view themselves as middle class, and so vote accordingly.
2. proletarianisation 
  • middle class jobs are becoming working class by nature
3. underclass
  • charles murray dependancy culture
i was so behind on notes all lesson and i rlly dont understand the next bit, we did on globalisation and its economic consequences on the class structure & i stayed behind at break to finish my notes.
some key names are Leslie Sklair who argued that globalisation had produced a new global power elite. As well as William R Robinson who claimed that we are in the latest stage of capitalism, evolving from a nation state affair to capitalism on a global scale.

then i had two frees and just continued to catch up on notes, did some notes on prescriptivism for re and ate lunch with emily and niamh, i then had re w mr ward and we just finished some notes on diff meta-ethical theories.
gonna list some philosophers w their meta-ethical theories now lol
G.E. Moore- inuitionism
W.D. Ross- intuitionism
A.J. Ayer- emotivism 
Stevenson- emotivism
David Hume- naturalism
R.M. Hare- prescriptivism

I then went to work after school but was rlly annoyed bc mr azzopardi was doing an extra lesson on emptiness and i rlly struggle w that, but had to miss it bc of work. walked to work was exhausted when i got there but cleaned up hella quick, got my reference off nicki and went on my jolly way home. I did want to go to the library to do some work but felt tired and gross so kind of just wallowed all night! tried to do abit of my art essay but failed. gonna go library tmrw after work fosho tho.
