Job Problems and Questions.

So I know that TYPICALLY you power through jobs you do not like, but I feel once your store leader yells at you for crying, and day after day makes you feel like an idiot for non-work related things, there's something wrong. I was only there for 2-3 months, and no matter what I would do to fix my pitches and my sales, nothing was good enough for her. Our district manager approved how I was doing things, and liked my numbers but my store lead couldn't stand how I did things. But I was selling okay for a new hire and I started improving even. She even called me names in front of customers for, again, non-work related issues.

Is this a normal work experience??? I feel like it was unnecessarily hostile for a new hire, and personal attacks shouldn't be made at work.

What should and shouldn't be tolerated at a job?

And Lastly, what was YOUR worst work experience with management or coworkers?

I'm 19, and so I'm still relatively new to all of this because I could only start working when I was 16.

i agree that it seems pretty hostile. you shouldn't have to tolerate being bullied by anyone at work. i think if it makes you uncomfortable and sad, you should look for something else. i haven't had a job yet but im looking and kind scared of something like this happening. but good luck in whatever you decide to do!!

Luckily this was the first time this really happened and I've worked 1 seasonal job at a Six Flags, and 2 other year long jobs before this and there were other reasons for leaving like scheduling or season ending. I can't imagine it happens all that often, but thank you! Good luck to you as well :D
