Saint Asonia - Saint Asonia (Album Review)

Shortly after original Three Days Grace singer Adam Gontier quit the band in 2012, Mike Mushok (Staind guitarist) reached out to him, but what just started off as them getting together and writing some music, shortly turned into the formation of a “supergroup”, Saint Asonia, with drummer Rich Beddoe and bassist Corey Lowery.

Currently, they have 2 albums together, their self-titled album and Flawed Design, so just like I did with Three Days Grace’s albums, I will be reviewing them.

To tell the truth, I actually didn’t like this band at first and I never really knew why. There was just something about their chemistry that felt kind of off compared to Three Days Grace. I also felt like Adam’s voice sounded strained on not just this record, but even on Transit of Venus a little bit, compared to the ones he did in the past, but listening to it now, although I still notice a small strain on songs like Better Place, Happy Tragedy, Fairy Tale, and even Waste My Time, I notice almost none on Transit of Venus.

Aside from that though, the album is pretty good and has a lot more depth in terms of lyrics than anything Three Days Grace is making now.
