fustrations of the unemployed looking for employment

look, i understand you're looking for people to work for you. but no one is coming to you are they? i've been unemployed most of my adult life and have only ever taken small breaks from searching for a job so i know why no one is coming to you cuz i'm one of those that sees your now hireing sign and scoffs. theres multiple things that are driving people away from your buisness i'm only here to adress some of the bigger barriers in hopes that you will actually manage to be able to to have a successful business. point 1, it's called a "job market" for a reason it's a market. if you want to succeed you need to offer competitive wages why should i work for you when i know that the other guy on unemployment is living the high life? he's getting payed to do nothing at nearly the same rate you'd be paying me to work for you and he's better off since his income is stable my income would be based on how charitable with hours you are to get anywhere close to a better pay than the unemployed kid i need to work so many hours that 1 it's illegal and 2 i wouldn't have time to enjoy that pay. in effect what i'm telling you is you're competing with unemployment you need to make your job more worth doing than sitting on my ass collecting a check from the gov for doing nothing (i'm not on unemployment myself but i'm about to look into it now that things are opening up and i still can't find a job) i actually have a blog where i talk about this very problem in that blog i bring up housing prices i expect to be able to at the very least be able to move out on your wages if i'm not getting paid that much theres no reason to work for you cuz i can't live off your pay https://blog.spacehey.com/entry?id=20272 next let's talk about availability of application this is one of the biggest deterrents and that is online application only there's a few variations of this such as "go to our website and fill out an application" "send a text to this # for an application" ect ect ect point is you don't do the typical paper application and if you do you probably just scan them over and toss them out never even attempting to contact applicants which by the way if you're really hurting for employees is one of the dumbest things you could do but i'll address that in a bit let's focus first on why you shouldn't do online hire only you assume that i have the ability to acsess the internet safely i.e. home internet and personal computer but the fact that i don't have income means i can't affored this sure theres people like me lucky enough to have a place to crash where there is internet but most of these people looking for a job are out on the street cuz they can't even afford rent much less internet which is a monthly charge which is also why a lot of these people don't have a phone they can text from as well the people with the most flexible time and most in need of a job do not have acsess to these things the only people you are going to get applications from are students who are only working for experience and will discared you after a short while and those who already have a job and no intentions of leaving meaning their sceadual will not be flexible next why you should pay attention to the paper applications ok so you do paper applications but you still cant get anybody whats the problem now it's a simple problem youre not contacting anyone not even attempting to or if you do when you find someone else is on the line you don't ask if the applicant is there again these people have to use others phones they can't afford the monthly fee to keep theirs on if they have 1 to begin with let me ask you how do you expect to bring people in for an interview if you don't even try to contact them? my point exzactly you can't they only real option if you aren't reaching out is open interviews in which you will need to let the applicant know immediately if they are hired or not because you will never contact them again after that interview and while that's not a bad idea the issue with that is that people need to be aware of it most people looking for a job who've been looking for as long as i have pretty much are never notified of such things instead we go in ask for an application cuz thats just the way that it should be my summary is your reliance on the internet age tech is hurting your place in the job market i mean it's not just that the past generation certainly has made it harder for you too cuz you now have to offer more than $15/hour politics does indeed have alot to do with this issue but some of it is a you issue i'll eventually be off the market but you if you are ever off the market it's cuz your business died not because you where successful in fulfilling your need you are the merchant but you are not asking for money no thats what you're offering you're asking for work keep this in mind when you know how the transaction works you'll want to eliminate any barrier between you and the customer or in this case worker to be remember "the customer is always right" (will comeback later to iron out spelling errors and punctuation)
