I moved into my first apartment when I was 18 and that was almost a year ago now. I moved in with my two best friends and one of their sister's. Safe to say that the sister and I were not good friends in the beginning. Not that we hated each other we just never hung out. Let's call the sister Laura, and my other two roommates, Emily and Jane.
Recently Emily and Laura and I have become best friends and Laura told me that Jane was saying some things about me behind my back. You know, she figured that since we are best friends that even though it's her sibling that she should let me know. It all got to the point where I had to confront Jane. When I confronted them, they said that they had never said that kind of stuff so I walked away. Because clearly the were lying because Laura has no reason to lie to me.
For context, Jane has a lot of mental health issues but that is not a factor in why they should act this way. Laura, Emily, and I have all complained about mutual things we were experiencing with Jane and that's how we bonded.
Nonetheless, Jane lied to my face and although we talked everything over I think she's still lying to me and now they won't even talk to their sister and they say that it's Laura's fault for why our friendship went the way it did even though that's not true because if they hadn't said those things about me behind my back then we would still be friends. While yes they are still siblings, Laura is still my best friend and feels like she had to tell me. She didn't tell me all the details just what was important.
I'm so over it and just annoyed. I think that Laura and I are in the right. But I just don't know anymore.
