armored core is punk as hell

and the first game is hilariously transparent about how the game is about corporations continuing to ruin the world. almost to a Neal Stephenson degree of satire.

it's like ah Chrome is really evil huh, just totalitarian as can be. good thing we have the Murakumo Millennium corp to oppose them.

hmm? what's that? Murakumo is scooping up pilots with mountains of debt and giving them incredibly dangerous experimental operations for their own profit under the guise of the "Human PLUS" program? and they're funding terrorist organizations opposed to Chrome? huh.

and all the city guards are just like "haha yeah we're completely at their mercy we just try to hire folks that can help our civilians die less"
