Dreams about people from the past

I often get dreams about people i used to be friends with, or even my exes. I wouldn't think much of it, but they are starting to kinda bother me. In these dreams it's either that we fight really bad or we start bonding again. There is a part of me that wishes to go back, but for my own good i'd rather not. Some of these people have been racist, homophobic and ignorant, and i don't need that kind of stuff in my life. Even my ex best friend was one of them... she's the one i dream the most about. I don't know what to do.
