i hate shein

shein is so cheap but its such a bad company like... im sorry but if you can afford £100 worth of shein outfits you can most definitely get sustainable fashion instead...

i always shop from thrifts and buy merch from bands that i like :)) id rather spend €30 on a shirt that will hold up after time than 5 bad quality garments that rip from washing them; made from a billionaire company that literally has slaves as its backbone.. plus most thrifts sell clothes in very cheap prices, so why even bother with shein and fast fashion companies ;pp

I be getting so annoyed with some bitches who try to call people classist for getting mad at them for shopping at SHIEN bc they're "poor"
If you are poor, the latest fashion trends are the LEAST of your damn worries, and realistically you don't want to be buying from SHEIN because those clothes will last you five minutes and it'll just loop you into a cycle of buying and rebuying clothes. There are better, cheap alternatives to get clothing. (-This is coming from a literal homeless person btw-)

Or kids who claim to be poor when they're living in a middle class house, under a roof they don't even pay for... Like bitch, you're not "poor", you're a child on your daddies allowance who thinks cheap spending is wise spending. Use your parents money smarter.

did you ever stop to think that maybe poor people might wanna look nice? ofc i'd rather people not shop there if they don't have to but you should also think about other things. its not as simple as do or don't buy there.

by yanna; ; Report

also if you talk about shein then you need to talk about nike, h&m, zara, and many other stores. you can't pick and choose.

by yanna; ; Report

poor ppl do wanna look nice but they should try to get clothes tht are sustainable, good pricing, and look nice! :D

by 🌈🦕💖~Grace~💖🦕🌈; ; Report

sustainable clothing is difficult to find and expensive. someone with less money won't be able to afford it. you'll need enough clothes to fill a wardrobe and those 20-30 dollar shirts add up.

by yanna; ; Report

Ohh yeah ur right
It sucks tht businesses keep trying to make it hard for everyone

by 🌈🦕💖~Grace~💖🦕🌈; ; Report

yeah if we all worked together we could make it happen but its going to take EVERYONE

by yanna; ; Report

yeah! :D
How should we start?

by 🌈🦕💖~Grace~💖🦕🌈; ; Report

if you CAN afford to buy sustainable clothing then buy it. if not try and spread the word about fast fashion because there are plenty of people who still don't know the truth about it.

Again, I'm literally homeless, and was for several months of my life and lived in severe poverty the months before that. You don't need h&m, zara, shein or whatever the hell to look nice. You of course should have enough to survive a whole laundry cycle, whether you have a washer at home and wash every week, or you were like me, and had to go to a laundromat every now and then throughout the month. Nobody who is realistically in poverty is entirely concerned with the latest trends. You need nice clothes. that's without a doubt, such as for job interviews, or work environments that require you to dress appropriately and such for example. I think job interviews are a fine exception to buy fast fashion if you absolutely can't find anything from friends or a local thrift store or even something like a good will or Plato's closet. But I mean, in terms of just buying clothes for the sake of buying clothes (Needs vs. wants) then in a realistic setting, You don't need to buy stuff from fast fashion brands.

ive had like 2-3 things from there, ive got a pair of jeans from their that me and my mum modified to be less wide legged and more flared, cause I looked like I had elephant trunks for legs, it was decent quality, but honestly I dont rlly trust it cause the sizing for me being a 14/16/18 betweener is always off :/

me too, i brought some tops and ripped jeans, they had alittle insects in them, they were black with fuzzys on them, absolutely disgusting. plus the tops are so bad they are very easy to break, besides this one top i got which is one of my favs.

I swear I saw a tiktok video about this, someone opened a SHIEN package and bugs exploded EVERYWHERE... ENDLESSLY. It was crazy disgusting and she didn't even know what kind of bugs they were, nobody in the comments could identify the bug in the video. I'll link the video----

double kudo for this!!! omfg shein, zara, h&m and all these other fast fashion brands simply DESTROY the planet and destroy fashion overall. it's so sad, I wish the media would explain more to people how detrimental it is to our mother earth :( without her, we're simply nothing.
