I've been working on creating my own music and working on my vocal technique. This comes with working on my confidence as well. I am in the select choir at my school and we are doing a decades throwback show. I signed up for a solo spot and I'm really hoping that I'll get it. I won't be upset if I don't, since I picked a song that's not very popular.
Anyways, moving on to the exciting part. I went to karaoke at the local Mexican restaurant since I'm not old enough to go to the bars and I sang "Ain't it Fun" by Paramore, amongst other things. After I was done, the man who was sitting at the middle table got up and came to talk. Turns out, he's been making music and performing for 26 years! He complimented me and told me if I work a little bit on my voice I could make it in the industry. I hadn't even said anything about wanting to sing "professionally". He gave me his card and told me to call him if I needed anything. I was ecstatic!
It honestly made my whole night. I've been writing my ideas down like mad and thinking of stuff more clearly than ever. Super thrilled for the future.
