When MySpace was a big thing back in the early 2000s, I was a small child who would go on sites such as Neopets and the official websites of various kids TV stations. I dreamed of not only customizing my online profile with HTML and CSS, but also making a personal website of my own. Because let's face it, pretty much everyone had one at the time. I dreamed that when I became 13, I would make my MySpace account and hang out with other cool people. Little did I know that MySpace's popularity would not last that long.
In my tween years, MySpace was becoming obsolete as Facebook gained popularity. During that time I ran a Windows Live account. Knowing the possible dangers of Facebook such as the sharing of personal information, I tried to resist. I even warned about that in one in one of the last posts of my blog. This was made more difficult when I found out that my old neighbours had a Facebook account. I eventually gave in and made an account on the first day of 2010.
I was deeply hooked on it! I would play games such as Miscrits, Bejeweled Blitz, and Monster Galaxy. But soon the addiction began to wear off in 2012, when I began to realize that something wasn't right about Facebook and other social media platforms. Thankfully during the turbulent times in 2016 it was a lot easier for me to stop using the platform, which helped me focus on more important things in life. Can you imagine how it could have been harder if I played Farmville or even started using Twitter and Reddit? Yikes!
Long story short, I was browsing around the small web community when I found out the existence of a classic MySpace clone called SpaceHey. Being reminded of a time when I dreamed of having a MySpace account, and having that dream taken away by forces beyond my control, I decided to make a SpaceHey Account. The rest is history.
