so

season 3 isnt really out out, only 4 episodes are out so far (one casually appeared in a british streaming service and the oter three were shown in a theatre yesterday)

but the moomin fandom isnt known for saying "be gay do crime" for nothing, so ofc these 4 were pirated very quickly

and now

i need

to talk abt the 3 episodes of yesterday

first of all MOOMINTROLL MY BABY MY HONEY MY SON HES BACK!!! HES SO ADORABLE!!!! IDK IF ITS THE CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT OR WHAT BUT HES SO MUCH SOFTER AND SWEETER THAN IN THE FIRST 2 SEASONS AND IM HERE FOR IT!!!!!

Stinky telling him he was just too good to be a criminal was so cute...hes so adorable i need to hug him

i cant believ this is the same Moomintroll that would get jealous of a dragon, ignore his girlfriens for his "best friend" (one word: gay) to then get angry at said

best friend over...nothing, cry out of frustration at least 4 times in the season, and overall being insufferable

then again in season 2 even though he was still a little annoying, he showed signs of getting wiser and thinking more of others instead of always himself

AND NOW HES THIS SOFT TINY MARSHMALLOW I ADORE HIM

he was so nice he was like "hey what if instead of going through all this trouble we just tell her we're sorry :)" and everyone else dismissed him bc they wanted to be CrImInAlS and bReAk iNtO a HoUsE uUuUu

AND THEN HE GOT INTO JAIL THAT WAS SO FRUSTRATING SET HIM FREE MY BOY DID NOTHING WRONG

thankfully Big Mamma (Moominmamma) is the best and made Stinky and Moomin switch places in jail B) i mean, Stinky was the one who planned the whole thing anyway

i didnt watch all the episode bc the person who recorded it from the theatre didnt got it complete, but from what i saw i really liked it!! tbh i also really enjoy movies/shows where most of the story they're planning smth big and the thing happens at the end (and OFC smth goes wrong bc if im not on the edge of my seat thinking if they're gonna win, then whats the POINT)

anyways back to the episodes...

SNORK

SNORK IS SUCH A SKRUNKLY I AM IN LOVE WITH HIM

look i usually dislike the snork bc he seems really insufferable (in the books hes a little less annoying but. still i dont like him) HOWEVER this snork is,,so cute,,,just a little guy,,,a little nerdy guy who likes romance novels but cant let anyone know bc itd be embarrassing 🥺🥺 oughh i love him

also his voice!!!!! man i love it sm

now i understand why some fans were so excited to hear him, though he kiinda sounds like Moomintroll ngl, but u can still tell the small differences

AND TALKING ABT SMALL DIFFERENCES Moomintroll's VA changed for this season and i was kinda sad bc Taron Egerton's voice was perfect for him but the new VA got it almost perfectly! and the small touches that he gives to his Moomintroll actually make him sound cuter <3<3 i might rewatch rhe clips only to hear hom again bc dnfnndnm,,,💝💝

OH YEAH the Mr Brisk episode

sooo we got much less clips from that one bc the person who filmed it got late and didnt saw half of it :( but its an episode with Mr Brisk honestly it wasnt a big lose lol

LITTLE MY HAS DADDY ISSUES

tbh i knew she had family issues already (the thingumy and bob episode where she talks abt feeling replaced by her younger sibs) but i was expecting mommy issues at least tbh...i mean have u seen the mymble. have u.

Moominpappa was a good dad for ONCE in this ep by assuming he wasnt a good dad before and saying he'll change for the better. good. ur the worst character in the whole story so u better redeem urself, old man.

talking abt old man the episode where his thing is being old and having back problems seemed a little uhh boring? like its the typical joke of old men being in pain bc theyre old but tbh it kinda fits Moominpappa as a character

i mean, this series is seasonal, a year passes with every season so it wouldn't make sense that his son is growing and maturing and hes still acting like hes on his 20s, let the man be old!!

i think the joke is lazy, but the concept fits the show so i wont complain, plus Moomintroll helping his dad or leading the way since Moominpappa was usually hibertaning during winter (yes this ep is during winter) was so adorable :')) when I tell u this boy is a sweetheart i mean it

he actually seems more fond of his dad at the end of season2, so i kinda like this. in season 1 their relationship was very uncertain, bc Moomintroll wanted to be his own moomin, not Moominpappa 2.0 and Moominpappa wanted to help his son, but his ego almost always came first and he couldnt accept the fact that he wasnt young and adventurous anymore

but in the end of season 2, Moomintroll kind of realizes Moominpappa's feelings and starts to treat him with more care, while still going on his own journey of self discovery, and this shows in the small details in season 3, like telling his dad hes still strong (while he says hes not young anymore), helping him walk so his back won't hurt more, leading the way so they dont get lost, etc etc

what else should i say nowww hmmm

right

the only bad thing ur gonna hear from me abt the episodes, and its related to the acting

i dont know why but the dialogues felt so spaced out sometimes, like if the actors were recording the lines in real time and had to take a few seconds to think how theyd say the line. this made the experience of watching the show...a little awkward at times. i definitely dont remember it being so slow in the other 2 seasons

also (ok maybe u will hear 2 bad things from me abt the show) WHAT IS HAPPENING WITH SNORKMAIDEN. WHAT ARE THEY DOING WITH HER.

why did they make her love and praise SNIFF in the first episode? why does she keep the "ohhh Moomintroll my handsome boyfriendddd i love u soooooo much" thing even though they practically broke up? why do they not give her a personality?????😭 

LOOK I KNOW SHES A SIDE CHARACTER OK. I KNOW HER ROLE ISN'T BIG BUT. COME ON. AT LEAST DONT MAKE HER THAT BAD

tho i like her interactions with the snork i only saw one where everyone were telling him his plan would take too long ans she said "well I think thats a brilliant idea! :)" and earlier she said how her brother was a genius<3<3 she loves him so much its so sweet...

Snorkmaiden in this show is so desesperate to have friends and if u cant realize that dont talk to me. look at how she interacts with her brother. look at how sad she was when Little My went away in season 2(or was it in season 1? well in the episode "little my moves out"). look at how happy she was when Moomintroll and her hung out with the pink clouds and look how GENUINE her advice was, like she wasnt trying to be the perfect girlfriend she just wanted to help her friend bc she LOVES him. GOD. LOOK. JUST LOOK. ITS ALL OVER THE PLACE SHE WANTS FRIENDS SHE WANTS TO LOVE PEOPLE AND THOSE PEOPLE TO LOVE HER BACK AND NOT IN A CHEESY ROMANTIC WAY JUST!! GENUINE AND PURE PLATONIC RELATIONSHIPS!!! LET HER HAVE FRIENDS🔪

Moomintroll and Snorkmaiden trying hard to be Moominpappa and Moominmamma 2.0 is a big part of the story and its UNFAIR that only Moomintroll got enough character development to break out of that while Snorkmaiden is still struggling to find her own persona and still tries to play pretend with him by being his clingy girlfriend

UGH JUST. PLEASE LET MY FAVORITE CHARACTER GET SOME DEVELOPMENT. PLEASE GUTSY PLEASE PLEASE IM BEGGING U IM ON MY KNEES ILL DO ANYTHING JUST GIVE HER SOME CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT
