Why i personally believe that amy rose is a strong female character

A totally very short very badly written analysis on why i believe that amy rose is a strong female character

There is a difference between a strong female character and a well written female character.

My personal opinion on if Amy Rose is a strong female character or not would be that she is a strong female character. (emphasis on the is)

What is a strong female character though? A lot of people associate strong female characters with physical strength, independence, reliability, a well opinionated character, intelligence, and so many other things. It can be a combination of all these things, just one of them, or something that I haven't even mentioned. Many people have very different interpretations of what a strong female character is. My personal interpretation as to what a strong female character is would be all of these things, the character doesn't have to have all of those traits but i believe that a reliable character, an intelligent character, an opinionated character, one that isn't afraid to speak their mind, one that is caring, one that tries to be as helpful as they can, and any character with any strong qualities, to me, that would be a strong female character. There is more than one way that a character can be strong.

Weakness does not cancel out strength.

A well written, strong female character can have weaknesses, be vulnerable, and emotional (although being vulnerable and emotional are often portrayed as weaknesses they are in fact not weaknesses) and still be strong.

No matter how many weaknesses a character has, if written well enough, they do not make the character any less strong.

There will always be people who agree and disagree with the idea of a certain character being strong as there are and there will always be several incredibly separate and similar concepts and ideas as to what characters would be considered to be strong and what makes a character strong.

Amy Rose carries so many of these strong qualities that would make her (to me, at the very least,) able to be considered a strong female character

She is able to care for someone and that pushes her to be stronger, (sonic the hedgehog). She goes out of her way to always be there for all of her friends and she loves going on adventures, she's not just following sonic around. She cares for others, helping a character that she didn't have to help in one of the games (going out of her way to help other characters); and although she can be seen as annoying at times, that doesn't make her any less of a strong female character to me because a character can have positive and negative traits. Characters can have weaknesses but that doesn't make them any less strong.

(although many would argue that she is annoying, or bossy, or too loud or anything else, that still doesn't make her any less strong.)

Also she literally like carries around weights with her at all times apparently

also liking stereotypically femenine things doesn't make any character less strong omg
