Kirby Anime Sub and Dub Episode 13 comparison

This is the first of 2 new years episodes for Kirby, and the better episode of the 2.

The episode starts right off with Dedede ordering a monster from Nightmare, and he's given Sasuke, the fire cracker monster. We then find out the Pupupuland doesn't have any set tradition to celebrate new years, because a lot of the Cappies are from other countries and towns. Dedede shows up to announce that he's throwing a big fireworks display, and all the Cappies are invited, but they're not permitted to make their own fireworks display. That somehow was a reverse psychology trick and tricks the Cappies into doing their own fireworks display... and somehow that is part of Dedede's plan? The parade ends with the Sasuke monster attacking Kirby and the Cappies with a MechaDedede.

It's a goofy episode, and I'm still scratching my head over why Dedede needed to trick the Cappies into throwing their own fireworks parade. He was going to attack Kirby with his own parade anyway, how would the Cappies throwing their own parade help him? Oh well, at least there's a lot of action at the end. Kirby actually uses 2 powers. We get Fire Kirby and Parasol Kirby all in the same episode. Fire is kinda overused in the show, but it's nice that they throw in Parasol Kirby as well. There actually is a Fireworks Kirby, but that's a combo skill from Kirby 64, so I kinda get why they didn't use it.

This episode does have some annoyingly big cuts. First of all, there is another gun scene that was taken out. When the Cappies are making their own fireworks at the police station, Gus pulls out Borun's gun.

When Dedede was questioning Sasuke's plan, Sasuke also pulls out a rivet gun and fires at Dedede and Escargoon. They cut the part where to see Sasuke pull out the rivet gun. I know it's a rivet gun, but it does look surprisingly close to a normal gun.

The worse cut was when Dedede's parade robot attacks, Bun and the village kids actually fire back buy throwing their own fireworks to burn the Escargoon parade float. That was honestly a cool scene seeing Bun and the kids fight back.

Still, this is a fun episode even if the plot didn't make a whole lot of sense.
