How I got into rock and metal music

Well I listened to a few rock bands when I was younger but not as much as I used to. Back in 2020 (I was 14), I was having online class and I was bored that I went on spotify to listen to music and I notice it recommend me rock/metal bands (all kinds) like metallica, my chemical romance, black veil brides, iron maiden, the cure and many more (my older sister and my older cousins used to listen to these kind of stuff even my sister have Linkin Park hybrid album). The music also leads to subculture like emo, scene, mall goth, traditional goth, visual kei, grunge, skate punk, metalhead, rocker and punk but I don't think I'm allowed to dress like this not do I know how to do makeup at the. Also funny thing is that I started to dress emo (kind of) as I have a fringe with straight with little wavy hair at the back and hoodie. P.S, to teenagers like me who wished to dress emo, scene or whatever, you can still wear it and according to people who were born in 90s, 2000s have some flaws as well as you will get bullied a lot worse.

Being punk, emo, grunge, etc. has nothing to do with how you look. It's essentially your perspective of the world. As much as I imagine I'd look cool in those sort of styles, they're not for me. However, I'm a big fan of these sorts of music. Mostly grunge and punk. I can send you my playlists if you're interested! I have one decent rock/grunge mix playlist which I haven't updated in a bit but may help you get hooked on something!
