The State of Things

Currently, as we speak, there is a risk of pure, unadulterated young men in America, Canada, and some Western European nations becoming drafted into a war, like all modern day wars, designed primarily to enrich the capitalist classes.

They will tell you that Putin recognizing the pseudo-independence of Donetsk and Luhansk, or annexing Crimea, is the same thing as Hitler taking Sudetenland, however this comparison is wrong.

"They thought he wouldn't go any further than Sudetenland"

Hitler INVADED and OCCUPIED the MAJORITY OF CZECHOSLOVAKIA, Including mostly Majority Czech/Slovak areas. Same thing with Poland and Denmark and Russia and everywhere else.

You have to make an equivalence of "badness" between the current oligarchy of Russia and the fascist empire of Hitler.

Doing so would be an insult to the veterans of WW2 and of the victims of WW2.

This all is the domino effect of the US funding Svoboda (the far-right nationalist group of Ukraine), and the US funding Euromaidan protesters knowing well (as evidenced by congress) that Azov Battalion (Neo-nazi group of Ukraine, and official delegation of Ukrainian Army) would co-opt what was left of the grass-roots elements of it.

With the funding, they successfully overthrew the unpopular (yet democratic) government of Viktor Yanukovych before the end of his constitutional 6 year term.

Putin used these infiltrators of the movement to justify his annexations of Crimea, and as of the past few days, the recognition of "independence" for the People's Republics of Donetsk and Luhansk. It does not justify their actions (that of the Russians), however it puts it into context as to who started this nonsense.

Not to mention the reason people in the Russian Federation supported Putin's rise to power in the first place, the monumental failure of Yeltsin, and the economic catastrophe after the collapse of the USSR.

The Cold War helped nobody involved but the elite weapons manufacturers and politicians.

Now those same people, along with their younger descendants, want to start a new one.

Better yet, a HOT war!

If the US/NATO/EU attempts to protect Luhansk and Donetsk, majority Russian areas of Ukraine, this has a, in my opinion, 70/30 chance of starting WW3.

Millions upon millions of people will die for capital. This is immoral. No country should participate in this. As bad as Russia is acting, we cannot stop them without killing more people than would have died normally.

It is the right of the peoples of Luhansk and Donetsk, along with Crimea to support Russia if they want, however it must be by democratic means, by referendum. That referendum has only so far happened in Crimea, and it happened after the annexation, which de-legitimizes it (although it makes sense why a 95% Russian province would vote to become part of Russia, it just needs to be proven better)

I would only support the West if there was a proper invasion by Russia of majority non-Russian territories of any state.

The lesson of the on-going story so far, is that you cannot solve Imperialism with more imperialism.

As long as the Russians respect the rights of the Ukrainian citizens who are minorities in those new semi-independent provinces/countries (Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk), it would be criminal to attempt to fight the current series of actions.

Any sudden moves could cause nukes to fly off, for Christ's sake! (Or Allah's sake)

Do NOT engage in the inter-imperialist conflict. NATO nor Russia has Ukrainians best interests in mind.

Supporting either in this conflict should land you in a gulag.
