Hey! I've never been as active on here as I'd like to be, but I thought I'd come share this! Over the course of the past 5 months I've gotten involved in my local DIY music scene and it's been a blast. I'm so overwhelmingly honored to be surrounded by such awesome people and such awesome music.
In the past month or so I've been starting to try and get full videos of some of my favorite tracks at shows to share with the internet and with friends who live in far off places. I thought I would introduce Spacehey to one of my favorite local bands, and favorite bands in general right now, Unamused Dave. They're insane and I'm more than stoked to share my town and my scene with them. They're a 4-piece emo math rock ensemble and while I see them floating around online in some deep corners, I definitely feel that they don't get enough recognition and I would love it if they could get some more hype, especially since they're working on recording new material and trying to get some tour plans together for later this year. This is their song Mango Swisher, the opener off their most recent album, What the Hell, released in 2018.
So yeah, I love them to death and they're basically my favorite band right now. I've been listening to their self-titled album a fuckton and their EP Leroy, no lie, pretty much every day. Some of my favorite tracks are Woodlawn, which I firmly believe is The best song ever; Bird Up; Parking Lots; and Neglection. (Neglection is off the 2016 Leroy EP, which is a bit closer to pop punk than math rock. The increasingly twinkly progression throughout the discography is satisfying.)
This concludes a post nobody asked for but you got anyway. Thank you for supporting independent music :)
