any advice on css?? i'm dying over here! Dx

hey, so i did all the css work on my profile by myself and considering i only ever really worked with html in the past, im pretty proud of what i've managed to do by myself so far. however ive tried so many different things to change the color of the tables on the left side of the screen, where i have my interests and my socials. but they just. wont. change. im not sure if theres something im missing... i already went through inspect element to try and figure out what the correct class/tag would be (sorry, im a little shaky on the terminology.. i took a web design class but that was two years ago during covid so my memory is foggy), but nothing i tried worked. any advice?? thanks so much in advance btw
