Went down the anime rabbit hole again recently - this time, I was going thru some of my old dvd sets & following along with TV Tropes (an extremely dangerous site known for its time stealing properties), when I stumbled across another series I hadn't seen in a very long time & honestly can't remember finishing: Eureka Seven.
I found a website where I could watch the dubbed episodes for free (don't judge, I'm still learning!), & I was blown - the first time I watched this I wasn't really sure I wanted to stick with it after 2 or 3 episodes, but it kinda sneaked up on me (although some of it really was hard to watch - no spoilers, you'll have to check it out for yourself).
Then I watched the sequel right afterwards...I can honestly see why the fans got pissed, & not just because of several glaring discontinuity issues. Although, in it's defense, there were dozens of shoutouts to the original series which I thought was kinda cool (even a few that TV Tropes missed, IMHO). The ending was definitely crap, tho, in the sense that I felt cheated. As much as I'd like to check out the alternate ending, from what I read I don't think it will be any more satisfactory to me.
But, I digress.
I'm now more than a bit obsessed with sweet little Eureka, to the point where I'm now planning on getting my hair dyed turquoise. Admit it, she really rocked that hair whether she realized it or not.
