Full Circle of Social Media

Back in 2009 I left MySpace for Facebook and it wasn't because I wanted to. I had a new job as a journalist at an alt-weekly paper and there was a mass exodus between the platforms. It's been well over a decade and I no longer have to write on a deadline anymore or try to find people that I have to talk to and I don't feel that I need the constant attachment to as many people as I used to. Sure, I'll probably check in with Facebook, but I'm on yet another 30 day ban for things their AI bots have taken out of context.
Facebook has become a monster which is a direct reflection of who we're becoming. I really don't want to deal with it anymore, thus the reason I'm here. While it's totally possible that I might blog here about current events, I don't intend to make a "laugh react" at the things going on. I'm more here to talk about the things that aren't pushed on Facebook. I'm not saying there's not a time or place for that, but I'm exhausted by it. It's something that is making us sick.
I hope you're all well and just want to kick it online like back in the day...before we've got this far...
