a [possibly] unpopular opinion

I want to premise by stating that I am 1000% a fall/summer person. I love the changing leaves and crisp fall air mixed with pumpkin spice and everything orange. second best is, of course, summer. that’s hiking and camping, and warm sun shining bright. third on my list would be spring, as everything is starting to warm up and life begins to bloom again. spring is equally beautiful in its own precious way. and since the only one left is winter, it must take it’s place as last on my list.

to be clear I do not hate winter, but its cons certainly outweigh the pros in my book. I hate being too cold (or too hot for that matter), and after a series of unfortunate events I have acquired some severe car wreck PTSD, therefore the thought of driving on ice and snow is not appealing at all to me. while I do appreciate and enjoy certain aspects of the season, it’s still not going anywhere on my list.

but that’s not the unpopular opinion.

I meditated on my thoughts during this year’s snowmageddon (while shoveling 3+ foot drifts out of my driveway, mind you) and I realized some deeper feeling in regards to my least favorite season.

so, onto my possibly unpopular opinion on the matter. there are of course, pros and cons to everything in life, including mother nature and her mysterious ways. winter has a certain feel to it that I just can’t quite put my finger on. and to be honest, it’s not even the season as a whole. it’s those few days, snowed in your house, cut off from society and essentially, dead to the world. maybe my scorpio stellium is showing, but I cant even describe the peace I feel when the whole state is shut down due to snow piled feet high. everything is shut down, no expectations, no interacting, nothing.

to add to that, I find is slightly disturbing how quickly people are so eager to get back to the hustle and bustle of everyday life. it just makes me wonder if anyone else has stopped to think of the calm and quiet that winter brings, and how beautiful it really is.

I dunno… I just wanted to put my thoughts out there and see if anyone has similar thoughts? anyway, comment your favorite-to-least-favorite seasons list so I can see what everyone else thinks!
