Due to reduced adult supervision compared to previous generations. Closest thing to this is the unsupervised internet usage and amount of information given to amongst the youth.very dependent and want things straight to the point. We are witnessing a 90’s resurgence that has traces of 70’s culture. Gen X have a detachment/nihilistic style that has become part of broader culture. The counterculture to that is the age of sincerity. New Sincerity (closely related to and sometimes described as synonymous with post-postmodernism) is a trend in music, aesthetics, literary fiction, film criticism, poetry, literary criticism and philosophy that generally describes creative works that expand upon and break away from concepts of postmodernist irony and cynicism.
Its usage dates back to the mid-1980s; however, it was popularized in the 1990s by American author David Foster Wallace.[1][2][3] The anonymous nature of the internet has made it common place to talk about mental health issues openly and a broader understanding and better diagnostics practices that are available online.
